Title: Augusta fuel guage Post by: DavidLaver on 17 January, 2008, 04:48:20 PM Spent some happy hours attending to loose ends on my Augusta project - litterally as its a rust wreck that needs moving and all the wires and pipes are a nuisance. I noticed some sort of line from infront of the passenger on the dash back to the area of the fuel tank. It looked like some sort of lightweight bowden cable. Fuel guage sender? What fuel guages did Augustas have? More generally what instruments did March Specials have? It was once a Pinafarina Cabriolet, it's likely to end up a distant cousin of the Earl of March. Its the ex-Barker car which went to DonW to Ron Francis via a friend to me. They were planning a short wheelbase special, I like the long wheelbase but just to ensure I still get disapproved of plan for Aprilia power. yes I think its the fuel gauge "sender" it worked on a float in the tank but mutch better to fid a repro electric guage on a special. It was always the intention to fit an aprilia engine/gearbox, I have only recently sold the Aprilia bits that were bought for it. I wish you all the best in completing the project. March Specials have standard Augusta Chassis instruments as the dashboard came fully fitted with the chassis including radiator shell and bonnet. Don |
