Good read. Title: Re: Fulvia v 124 v GT Junior. Classic and sports car Post by: ColinMarr on 01 October, 2019, 08:29:47 AM That is an interesting article – thank you for posting it. It has special significance for me and takes me back to a dilemma I once had. In 1969 I had the good fortune of taking up a one year assignment to work and live in Brussels, which then extended to two years. Our daily driver had been my much loved Aprilia, but city centre living without easy access to a garage meant that it had to go. I was then in the fortunate position of being able to buy a new car free of UK purchase tax and import tax.
My choice quickly narrowed down to an Alfa 1300 GT Junior, a Fulvia 1300 Coupe or a Fiat 124 Sport. Each of these options was in theory available for about £1000, while the UK prices were in excess of £2000. In reality, the Alfa agency had a six months delivery time, the Lancia agency was unable to offer any delivery and Fiat could provide a car within two weeks, with a choice of colour. You can guess which one I went for, and I really enjoyed three years of trouble free motoring in a Portofino yellow 124 Sport! Happy days! Title: Re: Fulvia v 124 v GT Junior.
