Title: New owner ‘72 S2 Fulvia Sport
Post by: SportZagato on 02 April, 2020, 02:02:51 PM
Hi. Just saying hello. This is my first Lancia, I remember seeing one when I was eight and thinking how amazing it looked and my Dad test drove a Sport 1600 at the Checkered Flag in Chiswick. The first picture was taken from my window the second from the previous owner last year.
It’s one of those car that leaves a smile on you face every time you drive it.
It should be Bianco Saratoga (it’s currently peachy white now). I’m either going to take it back to original but it not my favourite shade of white or find a dark gunmetal metallic. I torn between originality and the colour I prefer. Gives me something to think about while in lockdown.

Nice car!

I have a sport 1600 that is in Grigio Inglewood. Not a standard Fulvia Sport colour but was a Zagato colour for the Flavia Sport. It was in this gun-metal grey colour when I bought and when I restored it I decided to stick with it (could not find any other evidence of it being painted another grey) as it suited the car more so in my view than argento silver or grigio escoli.....

Having said that I have a coupe in bianco saratoga which really suits that car. Each to their own

Hi Lancialulu, I’ve seen your car in on the forum before it looks lovely. Do you have a photo of your Coupé so I can see it on a car. I’ve only seen a sample. I know originally is best.
I was the thinking if I change the colour I would go darker shade like this photo. Does anyone know if Lancia does a similar colour?

It  must be the lighting playing tricks but that Muira looks to be darker in the mid section than the front & rear, but i'm sure it wouldn't be for sale at Joe Macari if it was two shades.

Quartz Grey is a darker Delta colour like the one I used to have below

Sorry Sportzagato Welcome to the forum & forgot to say great choice of car as your first Lancia.

If not on the Zagato register for known Fulvia Sport registration & chassis numbers, be sure to get in contact with Roddy Young who will cross reference it and add if necessary, if it's already there he can update the owner information & he may be able to help you with some previous history too should any of it be missing.

Paul.

On the Lamborghini it’s the way the light falls, the rear arches bulge out behind the doors. (It’s £2.5 million!!!!)
I remember that colour on the Delta now. I’ll have to get a sample.

Thank you for the info. I get the paperwork out and update the register, I did know there was one.

Bizarre I have a Grigio Quartz Delta 1.6gti.e. As a daily driver stranded at Carcassonne Airport at the mo waiting paitently for all this strange time to blow over....

I would not say Grigio Quartz is right for a Fulvia though.....This is the only picture I have with them together.

They both look great. Maybe I’ll just wrap it then I can go for any colour. What to choose? I have plenty of time to contemplate.

Jacky and I have had a few Fulvia Sports.
The quickest one was a light grey metallic 1600 LYX191K (or maybe 161K) we had in the late 70's  which was originally yellow.  I took the bumpers off and fitted a really nice set of Carmona alloy wheels and a set of Konis and I believe the car is still in the UK. And the best original car  was an early all aluminium Mendoza Blue Sport OPD23E which we sold through this forum a few years ago.
However I always hankered after a Salmon Pink 1600 Sport as the Zagato design is so wild, I felt the car should have a wild exterior colour as well.
Back in the 70s  there used to be one very close to our apartment in Suinningdale but its not there now and I haven't seen one in the UK for years.
Chris .

Not a Fulvia, a Flaminia from one of the local Surrey members at a show last year, in a lovely metallic grey.

We've had a few sports over the years;  yellow, Lancia blue, silver, rosso corsa - my personal favourite was the yellow, but Lancia blue looked fantastic as well

I remember a friend of the family having the salmon pink 1600 with the dog-hair interior. Owned by Richard .... who lived in Warwick if I recall

That was fabulous and sooooo exotic !

"Pelliccia" (furcoat) only for Zagatos as a special optional, I have never seen one,
Andrea

Well there are at least 2 in the club - both in desperate need of alternative covering. Andrea can you get that fur in Italy any more??

Sorry, I don't know. Probably worth enquiring at Trinchero (only wholesaler) or Elvezio, Andrea

The 1600 Sport my Dad testdrove when I was 11 had the teddy interior. It was so different from any interior I’d seen before.
I was thinking about face my seats with it but I believe it as only an option for the 1600 Sport.
