Title: Door check strap info fulvia coupe
Post by: Oliveoils on 30 June, 2020, 03:58:39 PM
Hi guys
Can anybody advise or provide a drawing of the door check strap assembly? Both doors on my car have the straps but there are no parts to attach the strap to the doors and I am struggling to find any info on the parts required to restore the straps to working order. Also have a courtesy light switch missing. Guess the doors have been removed in the past, and these parts never made it back to the car when re fitted !,

The strap pushes through a sprung roller part that is bolted to the inside of the door IIRC. A disk is slid over the strap and a split pin or similar goes through one of the limit holes (to suit how far the door opens). There is a strap on ebay at the mo.(no connection).

I might have a courtesy switch in my autojumble stock. I will have a look next time I am at my store.

Here are some pictures from my car. Also, if Richard can't find the courtesy switch I have a spare one.

Inside the door.

As I said the correct detail found in the parts book is a felt washer followed by a steel washer.

As Tim correctly stated::  rubber buffer plus washer and split pin.

Many Thanks for the info everybody!  Can't tell you how much I have struggled to get clear info on this. I now understand what I should now be looking for to get things fixed, and will begin the hunt for parts.
To Both Richard and Norm, Thank you for your offer of a door switch. If you can find one I would be very grateful ,and very  happy to pay even if it requires some work to make good.
