Title: Bottom ball joints Post by: Charles Frodsham on 28 March, 2021, 09:59:40 AM I had an enjoyable day yesterday in the garage working on the 1.6 HF. Cleaned up the front suspension components and applied some dinitrol to them. Found all 11 grease nipples, but I was unable to do the lower ball joints. They seem to be a smaller size. Any advice on what fellow members use to achieve this would greatly appreciated.

There are boxes of nipples of different size to fit most applications. Don't pump too much grease in the balljoints as the rubber gaiters can be easily broken, Andrea

I have ordered some 45 degree replacements. The originals were 90 degree. By loosening slightly, I was able to grease the ball joints, but it’s a bit fiddly.....hence the replacements. They clearly hadn’t been used for some time and required cleaning through! Thanks for all the inputs 👍 |
