i have a split rubber on a top ball joint - is there any guidance on how to replace the ball joint? The only way to check quickly is to restrain the spring. If the ball is OK I would just replace the rubber boot available from Omicron.
Other wise it is a suspension dismantle as the joint is pressed in the top arm and not possible IMHO todoin situ. The club has a tool to withdraw the joint but you need a press for a new one. It is unused and now surplus from my previous Fulvia project. It is the type which has a threaded hole for a grease nipple. Richard

Thank you everyone for your. The images of the spring tool is very useful. The Flavia have kindly lent me their's. i just need to get the right size hub nut tool. Again the consortium have sent me to two, but both are too large. The diameter of the hub recess that houses the 6 pin nut is 61mm. Does the LMC have one for members to use? Mark |
