Basically you have to ensure that the empty-to-full resistance change in the new sensor is the same as in the original one. The new one states '180 ohm'. If you have a multimeter you can check what the resistance of the winding in the original sensor is. Although I haven't tried it, you could temporarily connect the new sensor and immerse the float portion in a jar of water to see how it matches up with the gauge indication. I had my original sender repaired by someone. I think his name was GaugeMan or something similar. Fuel level always seems low when I look in there, similar to your recent thread, although 20 miles per gallon? (Twice round my test route and ten minutes shuffling back into my garage). Richard
