Title: Checking carburettor float level through emulsion tubes Post by: FERGTS246 on 30 May, 2022, 01:56:27 PM Hi, can anyone advise on a material or a tool that could used to check the fuel level by putting it down the emulsion tube of a carb.
Its a Solex C40 PAAI. The workshop manual suggests using sight-glass that screws into base of float chamber - but I'd have to make one as none available. Thanks in advance Chris Title: Re: Checking carburettor float level through emulsion tubes Post by: lancialulu on 30 May, 2022, 03:29:56 PM I use a narrow cable tie marked with a datum which lines with the top of the emulsion tube. The fuel wicks into the serrations of the tie. Accurate to the serration interval.
