Title: Fulvia Coupe drawings for sale
Post by: lancialulu on 22 November, 2022, 09:28:30 AM
Selling these 2 large (A0 ish size) vintage drawings of Fulvia Coupe Body. They appear to be original and have lots of patina. Only one set. Would look great framed.

Posted as a roll in cardboard tube.

£25 the pair posted to mainland UK address.

PM if interested

Tim

Just to be clear, these lovely drawings are reprints that were done c. 1980s by Style Auto (I think) from the factory drawings. A full printing of the factory drawings would show the title blocks in the lower right, instead of the small logo and notation in the bottom center. Still, nice looking!

That's right Geoffrey, the drawings were each side of a single folded sheet included in Style Auto edition 17.

Do you have the Lancia article from this publication Norman? And do you know if there were seperate drawings with other Style Auto issues by any chance?

Richard

Yes Richard, I have the book with the article in it.  The article is 32 pages long and focuses in depth on body design and the manufacturing process through to paint with many photographs taken inside the Chivasso plant.  I bought it because of this focus as I was working in a Ford Motor Company body and assembly plant at the time.  It's a 25 centimetre square format book so does not lend itself to photocopying.  I could photograph the pages individually and send them to you - ideally via WeTransfer as the file would be large.  And/or I could load them to the Forum if you can think of a good place to put them.  Some low-definition example pages/spreads are attached. Cheers, Norm

I forgot to answer your other question Richard.  I don't know if any other Style Auto editions had separate  drawings.  The three or four that I've seen did not.

I think I have seen some of those before but maybe not all 32 pages.  I haven't used 'We Transfer' before. Can I print from this with a regular home printer? I would certainly like to have a copy of the Fulvia drawings somehow, but maybe smaller than Tim's A0 examples . As it happens I have bought a Bristol car book from Butterfield Press featuring attractive line drawings. This softback book opens out flat and has four different dust covers.
Also those Periodico magazines are available as a 'We Transfer'. Anyone know of a method of printing these on to paper economically ?
I have an estimate of around £20 per issue x 37 issues for my personal use. Anyone interested in a run of these if the cost is lower? Although I don't want to infringe any copyright or similar. Not sure if 32 pages can load onto this forum. Perhaps others here can advise?

My drawings are not folded….. and I suspect larger than the style auto ones….

The Style Auto drawing opens up to 680mm by 480mm, so smaller than the ones Tim is offering.

The Style Auto book was published in 1968, by Style Auto Editrice of Milan.  That company was bought by Georgio Nada Editore who now own the copyright on Style Auto material.  Their website refers to extensive photo archives, and one of the Fulvia pictures is shown on the page that describes the archive.  As you can imagine, they charge a fee for use of images.

A dim recollection-  the Style Auto drawings were subsequently reprinted in Italy - either by Lancia club or a magazine, don’t recall exactly.

At one time had the full run, don’t recall any other loose drawings, but lots of good and detailed stories. Best periodical on car manufacturing and design at the time. And Norm was right - from early 1960s on. In the later years, (early 70s?) they fell off their quarterly publication schedule a bit.

They published a lovely quote from Fangio, "Lancia is like Mate" in one of their issues:

If you do photograph the pages I'd love a copy of them. I've added that edition of Style Auto to my eBay watch list!!

Do I have to provide anything for the 'we transfer' suggestion? I would be happy with which ever option suits.

The WeTransfer service is available for free for files up to 2gb in size.  You have to go to the WeTransfer website and create a free account.

The sender of a file logs onto the WeTransfer site and uploads the files and the e-mail address of the intended recipient.   The recipient then gets an e-mail from WeTransfer to say that files are available for download.  He/she then logs onto the WeTransfer site to download the file(s) to his/her computer or laptop.

I'll photograph the 32 pages of the article over the next few days and let you (Richard and Andy) know when I'm about to initiate the transfer.  I will not post the article on the Forum as it looks like that would be copyright infringement.

If anybody else wants the article just let me know via direct e-mail.

I won't attempt to photograph the fold-out chart.  If you want that, Richard, it would be best for me to mail the original to you so that you can have it copied at a local print store.   If you want to go down that route, e-mail me with your postal address.

I've now scanned the Style Auto article and am happy to send it via WeTransfer to anyone who would like a copy for their personal use. E-mail me if you'd like a copy.

Apparently WeTransfer is even easier to use than I thought.  It is not necessary to register.

So, to send the Style Auto article to somebody all I need is their e-mail address.  Once I've sent the file the recipient will receive an e-mail with a link to the WeTransfer website where clicking on a button downloads the file.

And simple to receive and save the files, thank you Norm!
