Title: 123 distributor Post by: mr.jwhey on 23 July, 2023, 01:06:25 PM Doing some repairs after an engine fire in my 73 2000HF. Does anyone have experience fitting a 123 distributor to an HF? Omicron says they can supply one. Aside from eliminating the points what would be the other advantages?

Better spark, ability to adjust advance curves (limited), and likely cleaner running at higher RPM. In other Lancias, we've had not such good luck with reproduction points (not quite as "springy" as originals), and so these electronic systems are more accurate.

Nonetheless, I still have the original points and baseplate in the glovebox! Fit and forget rather than having to clean and adjust points.
