Title: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 28 July, 2023, 02:33:09 PM My recently restored Dedra finds itself potentially being surplus to requirements, as with a lot of people who acquire projects they become less and less used once completed and I have a similar car sat idle in the integrale.
For those that don't know the car I bought it 2 or 3 years ago with the intention of it being a quick fix up job and use it. As we all know it never turns out that way. Besides the inevitable welding repairs needed the seats needed a retrim, the engine got stripped and rebuilt, turbo was professionally rebuilt, new clutch etc plus the wheels were properly refurbished being done as per OE in diamond cut with the spokes inset done in grey. The build thread is below if I've done it right... http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=12293.0 As for price it's a hard one to say as these so rarely come up for sale. I know I won't get my money back let alone make a profit but I can at least say I've saved another car! The last nice Dedra I saw for sale was a 1.8 from memory, a low miles one I know, but that was around £8k I seem to recall. This being a restored, rot free turbo that needs nothing doing ought to be a better bet? Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 28 July, 2023, 03:26:35 PM Pictures may help!

Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 20 September, 2023, 06:31:45 PM I'll be at Burghley House on Octobder 8th for the MITCAR event if anyone is interested in seeing the car, maybe with a view to making an offer..
I'd still sell if anyone was interested although I do enjoy driving it, far more discreet than the integrale and more civilised to boot. https://aroc-uk.com/events/mitcar-midlands-italian-car-day/ Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 23 October, 2023, 11:28:46 AM With winter soon here if anyone is interested in a now fully sorted Dedra turbo please about soon as it will be going on SORN at month end.
I will then decide over the coming months if I can justify keeping it and the integrale, plus the Flavia is now on with repairs so thinning the fleet would be sensible. I've done a good few short and long trips now and it is perfect, a very nice drive and to be honest it's surprised me how well it is received, I didn't expect many people to know what it is! Everything works as it should, even the electronic suspension! Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 23 October, 2023, 11:33:53 AM Did a near 200 mile round trip to The Motorist yesterday, a great drive and mixing with some nice company!
I did put an optimistic, don't want to sell price on it at MITCAR of £14,750 which in reality isn't that bad looking at the ones abroad that range from 10,000 Euros to near double that, and LHD of course. So offers are considered in the 5 figure range Or it will just go under cover for the winter and I'll decide in the spring what to do. Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: neil-yaj396 on 24 October, 2023, 07:43:51 AM Nice to meet you Kevin at Sherburn. As Kevin says this car is absolutely immaculate and a credit to his hard work.
Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 15 July, 2024, 06:58:32 AM With too many cars to keep fettled and used, and of course the expense of all the running costs I've decided that the Dedra will have to go.
I will be at the national on the Sunday in the car then an ad will go into car and classic or the like so if anyone is looking for a decent Dedra turbo then come see me at the AGM weekend on the Sunday at Royal Leamington Spa. It will be priced around £7,995 Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 04 September, 2024, 09:35:05 PM For anyone half interested in my Dedra I will be taking it to Mathewsons very shortly for their auction next month, I will post a link when it is up on their website.
The reserve will be set really low so someone will get a bargain at a fraction of the build price! Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 21 September, 2024, 07:27:59 PM Dropped the Dedra off at Mathewsons this morning for their sale next month, it was nice to have one last 100mile ride out in the car.
I'll post a link to their listing once it's all up. Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 23 September, 2024, 05:37:00 PM They haven't hung aroundwith getting it listed, quite a fair assesment I feel, although of course we know it's a Dedra and not a Thema! I can excuse Paul that litle slip as they have probably never had a Dedra through despite selling 500 or so cars every month.
I'd suggest if anyone is interested in the car and is close enough to go along for a look. The car will be sold via the auction on the Thursday, the reserve is minimal so it will go, so be sure to be available on the sale day to put on your bid or for simplicty just contact Mathewsons direct and submit your best bid and see what happens, you never know if hardly anyone bids it could go for an absolute bargain! The reserve is set for less than half the cost of the retrim so someone will get a car for a fraction of what I spent, but that's my fault fr spending so much! https://www.mathewsons.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-582---1991-lancia-dedra-se-turbo/?lot=35422&so=0&st=lancia&sto=0&au=83&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&pp=48&pn=1&g=1 Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: DavidLaver on 25 September, 2024, 11:54:00 AM Fingers tight crossed for you. Am feeling your pain! I liked his surprise at the fuel tank level. SO many must arrive there on fumes. Title: Re: Dedra turbo Post by: Kevinlincs on 12 October, 2024, 01:59:44 PM Less than a week to go until the Dedra goes under the hammer, I've comes to terms with the sale!
Sale date is Thursday, the time it goes through depends on how quick the cars go through but seeing as it is lot 582 out of lots 300 to 600 on Thursday I guess it will be late afernoon. On speaking to Mathewsons this week they say there has been a lot of interest in the car with many visitors askig "where is the Lancia" on going along, already it has had a few pre bids so it will be sold as the low reserve price has already been surpassed. It would be nice to see it go for a decent price not only for myself but also to show that Lancia cars away from the likes of the integrale and Fulvia coupe are also now being appreciated, well deserved in my view re the Dedra as compared to pretty much any other 90's saloon it compares very well indeed, better than the vast majority I'd say. |
