Title: Engine block cylinder numbering . Checking my sanity Post by: FERGTS246 on 07 September, 2023, 03:12:28 PM My manual says cylinder numbering on the block is:
Looking from the fan: Left 2 - 4 - 6. Right 1 - 3 - 5 However my engine numbering is: Looking from the fan: Left 6 - 2 - 4. Right is the same as the manual. The manual says firing order is 1-4-3-6-5-2 My question is should my firing order change to 1-2-3-4-5-6 to accomodate the different cylinder numbering on my block compared to my manual. I know this can't be right but I just need it confirmed as I'm going mad trying to work out why my left bank of 3 cylinders isn't firing properly, if at all. Thanks Chris Title: Re: Engine block cylinder numbering . Checking my sanity Post by: Richard Fridd on 07 September, 2023, 03:22:39 PM The stampings refer to the cylinder numbers not the firing order. 1 at the front and 6 at the rear of the engine. Don't change the plug leads from how they were when things were working properly.
