Title: Goodwood 2024?
Post by: Edjsunfulvia on 05 March, 2024, 06:26:02 PM
I attended the track day last year, sadly in an Aston Martin as 'Isabella' (Lancia Fulvia) was under the weather. Is this an annual shindig as I would be delighted to return. Info very welcome.

Blimey...price has gone up by £100 since I last attended (2022), although it was a very good deal previously.

Anyhoo, thanks, I just booked in. I will drive the Prisma this year, as much as I love blatting around in the Alfa Spider, I will bring the Lancia.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this event for the last couple of years; it’s been extremely well organised, and is still great value for money. Apparently, I can’t make it this year due to a clash with my daughter’s wedding… I did check with my wife just in case though! 😂

Until 2025.

I'm booked. We might make a weekend of it on the south coast. Any ideas/ recommendations for local accommodation?

I stayed in The White Horse, Chilgrove last year. Perfectly pleasant I remember. It's a gorgeous location if you can get there in time for an hours circular walk to work up an appetite before dinner.

Not sure yet if I will be there. If I am it would be as an interloper in a Sunbeam Alpine as Isabella 'en vacance on the Continent'.

Superb track day at Goodwood today. Thanks very much to the organisers.

I don't think the heavy morning rain was at all a hindrance and infact added to the fun!

Some photos from me from yesterday. A very enjoyable day despite (or maybe partly because of) the rain. If you use Facebook then there is a full set of c. 400 pictures here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2218834225145319&type=3

Great to see an Aurelia B12 on the track. I have used mine as a daily driver this summer as it is so versatile, comfortable and quick.
I was wondering whether the blue one on the track at Goodwood on Saturday had its original front springs as the cars attitude looks pretty normal.  The original fitments are very long and can lead to weird looking front axle angles on roundabouts for example ( which Italy only really discovered about 15 years ago and now they are everywhere, often sited badly or too big or small for the joining roads)  .........all in the pursuit of comfort and quality or ride back in the 1950s of course.

This looks like James Grazebrooks B12. I did mention the SP spring upgrade I did to my B12 (which cured the nose dive into corners/roundabouts and made for enjoyable driving machine) but not sure James implemented.

Well done to Neil and everyone who organised the day.
Adding a few pics of mine, I really enjoy shooting in the rain, so I was happy  ;D

Somehow I managed to take just over 5800 photos, arriving at 7am and leaving around 4.30.
Below are a small selection, the full days hi-res images are available on my website which can be found  on the links below:

Circumstances having conspired to keep me away again (even as I woke saturday morning I thought I was still going) the photos are greatly appreciated.
