Title: Fulvia Rear Springs Group purchase
Post by: lancialulu on 22 July, 2024, 04:58:12 PM
While I do not have a personal requirement at the moment I know there are a few Fulvia coupe and Sport owners in need of new rear springs (to oem specification).

These were normally available from Cavallitto, but no more it seems. (nor likely in the near future)

It is a critical component to have the Fulvia with the right attitude and handling.

Previous attempts to re manufacture in UK have from heresay not been too successful - according to some due to the "wrong" steel being used.

There are 2 types S1 type that have a silent block at the rear and bolt on to a chassis mounted trunnion, and S2 that has a silent block at each end.

I have no idea how much it will cost to remake and I have to see if the technical specification is available (other than what is in the published technical data book).

Before I go further (as I say, I personally do not have a need at the moment) can I get some idea of interest.

thanks

I'm in the business of making my S3 Fulvia as good as it can be, albeit the previous owner's resto & repair work was pretty extensive. The car seems to handle and ride pretty well but as mine is the only Fulvia I have driven I've nothing to compare it with. Its rear stance is perhaps a little bit high at 75mm clearance tyre to wheel arch with no load. The springs were replaced in 2015, some 12,000 miles done since then. They came from Mara Ricambi Lancia, Milan. Would you know if springs from this supplier are as good as those from the firm that you mention?
