Title: lower control arm bushes
Post by: Keithver on 10 August, 2024, 02:24:45 PM
I recently noticed that my lower control arm bolts are not as per tav 52 #18 (S1 and S2 parts books). There are no grease nipples and no holes to fit them either.
Should I replace them with the original bolt and grease nipple or can I leave them.
If I am to replace them, is it possible to do it without taking the whole suspension apart. Is it possible to do them one at a time using a jack under the arm end where the bolt goes through
Thanks for any answers you might have.

You might have the later metalastic bushes. Nothing wrong with them if the rubber has not disintegrated (although the end s may look in bad shape generally the bush is good so long as it has not had long term oil contamination). I have tried to replace in situ but end up with the lower arm on the bench..... Replacements are metalastic type... Care needed to  pre set the suspension height before doing up tight.

thanks Tim. I have checked and seem to have the correct bushes. So no need for the grease nipple bolts
Once again, thanks for all of your help
