Title: After the winter
Post by: HBG on 03 March, 2025, 06:30:36 PM
Hi Folks.

At long last its light and dry enough to play with the Fulvia after work.

Having driven the car often during the winter, I notice that there are a few surfaces under the car that need attention.

One weekend I'll put the car up in axle stands and address the areas that need tidying. I'd gone mad with the Dinitrol but still there is a bit of surface rust on the brake bias rod, rear axle tube and leaf springs.

What would you use to effect a good repair?

1. Wire brush then Hammerite sprayed on?
2. Wire brush, Galvafroid, undercoat then black gloss?
3. Wirebrush, rust converter, undercoat and gloss?

Dinitrol after of course!

Thanks.

Number three. Untreated rust even if covered by paint will creep on.
