Title: Re: One final push for the 'Grale..... Post by: Neil Lewis on 27 January, 2009, 09:53:14 PM I would have voted for the Simca Ti since I had one of those back in the seventies. It was only my second car and was fast and, to a teenager, very cheap!
But since I've owned Integrales for the last 13 years, it had to be that. And really!, it's a much better car than the Simca. But hooray for them reminding me of my youth... I'm surprised the Saab has done so well as its not the typical idea of a hot hatch. I thought it would be the usual suspects such as the Golf GTi, 205 GTi and the Clio Williams. We had a Clio Williams 2 before the integrale, great fun car, superb handling AND ride but let down by a very rough engine. Still it turned out to be a very good deposit against the Delta. Couldn't believe the step up in performance when we drove the integrale home from Walkers, 10 years ago now! Emma was only 4 then and the only way we could get her out of the Williams was to get the salesman to 'promise ' to keep it for her until she was old enough to drive! Now she wants the Fulvia as her first car and probably wouldn't speak to us again if I tried to sell either of the Lancias! Steve |
