Title: Series 1 keys
Post by: super_golfer on 18 August, 2010, 03:16:57 PM
My car came without any door keys. Is there any way I can get a set made up, or do I need to obtain replacement barrels and keys?

Cheers

Gil

You can get blanks here for the keys, but not the black and white ones.
A friend is in the process of a locksmith making keys for his series 2 Fulvia, only problem is the locksmith has buggered off on holiday without finishing them first ::)

I thinj that you are saying that you don't have any keys. I don't think that locksmiths can make up keys without a pattern key. I think that you will have to by new locks, with a key.

we had 3 cars done without keys for them, apparently they are fairly simple to strip down and sort "according to our local locksmith"  ::)

Yes, the problem is I have no 'spare' keys, so no 'pattern' for a locksmith to make a copy from.  But if I understand the above replies I can take the locks, plus a blank key, to a locksmith and he will be able create the key for me?.

If anyone has the address of a locksmith, then I would be grateful.

Cheers

Would have thought your local garage can point you to a local one.
As for key blanks I went to a local key cutting man and he looked them up for me.

Cooper Keys in Chelmsford certainly carry S2 blanks and have cut to fit keyless locks for me
