If there was any snow here , I'd post them. But there is no snow where I live - just -6c

Car is under cover, but wind blew the snow over it....

My lovely Italian lady is tucked up in her airchamber in her unheated garage, and says it's too cold to come out and play.
But she's hoping it will be a bit nicer for New Years Day at Brooklands :D

Im afraid wierdly we havent had that much snow, also the Integrale is tucked away in the garage (because it don't work :() and the only time it saw the snow was when I opened the door ;).

Hopefully in the new year I will see about getting it running sweet again so I can ENJOY it once more  ;D

My old saloon in Liverpool in 1965, then the daily car to work, quite snug with a Calor paraffin stove in the back.

I shudder to think of a Calor paraffin stove in the back of a car, I do hope it was securely tied down !!!!!!!!!!

We had to do things like that in the bad old days before heaters were standard.

Ah yes!! the only way to travel in the snow, My Grale is fantastic in the snow the only thing you have to rember is that everyone else is struggling so you have to be patient and wait in line in the traffic. I an sitting there saying to myself why is everyone struggling for grip and holding me up ! I know very immature of me.And the down side, the Grale is now outside covered in a layer of ice and I'm sure the salt is working it's way through the floor pan  :'(

As I was on earlies when the snow first hit, I was unable to take any photos of my cars in the snow.  As it snowed again last night, I managed to take a couple of photos today.  Attached are the Lybra and Y10.

Slightly off topic but....

Mrs Mc's car is going into the garage to have a bump fixed following a snow induced collision with our next door neighbour!

Question is do I spend £120 and hire a car for the week or get my normally pampered integrale out and use it.

Not doing any great distance but it will be on horrible salty roads. Can't decide whether I am being a bit neurotic!

 In all other respects I think it would benefit from a decent run out......

Not so much the snow but the extremely cold weather interfered mightily with my Lancia motoring this morning.
I went out at 0750 knowing that some warming up would be required, although the screen was clear. The door handle appeared to be frozen solid but a good pull got it open with a worrying sound something like breaking glass. Yes, the door was open but there was no way it was going to shut, not even on the latch. I then compounded matters by trying to open the passinger door from the inside. Luckily this stayed on the latch but wouldn't fully shut again!
The kids all piled in through the drivers door and I ended up driving into Shipley holding it shut with the handle (which like on many Betas is loose!). I was able to shut the door half way there when some heat must have blow into the door somehow and melted whatever was 'locking' it open. I was only able to fully shut the passinger door after it had stood in the sun for an hour.
Note to self - for God's sake clear out the garage!!!

A real shame as it looks like it was an absolutely mint 'Grale too. Almost too painful to look at.

On the subject of Lancias in Snow, we haven't had much in Ayr thankfully, but I took this picture last year. For a big 2.8 Automatic, she copes admirably well in the snow. Must be all the weight over the front wheels and the hot oil dripping from the cam cover!  ::)

VX after a snow shower this afternoon, more forecast tomorrow.

You are right Steve, don't want to go through that again!

A colleague has gone to Austria for Christmas so I have borrowed his 4x4 company car and Sam has got mine. So we are both mobile again and the integrale is in the garage.

From a couple of winter's back:

Not a Lancia, but took my Peugeot to Brands today for a trackday ???
this was the pit lane when they decided to close the track.

I love that loads of people are still queueing to head out, or at least it looks that way!

Here's one from quite a few years ago.

Glad you got alternative transport sorted Andy ! I'm dying to give my car a decent run too but it will be a little while yet after this weekend. I always start worrying about 'obsolete' body panels when there is snow around!
 
I tax my car all year round and don't mind taking it out if there is salt around as long as I've got chance to pressure wash the underside
when I get home, the thing is the hose pipe has been frozen for weeks! Although it's not the same the car gets started every week and run up to temperature.

I've got to pluck up courage to change the thermostat on the Delta (it runs cool) but the garage is so b....y cold it will have to wait!!

I'm a little puzzled by the footprint on the left hand wing of the Thema, has Santa been already and  used it for a hop-up to the roof ????

Yeah ! that's definaitaly santa's foot print, he was checking the chrildren to see if they were behaving themselve's. but the Ypsilon has the perfect snow cap. ;D

Lambda in the snow.......painted for me by Richard Wade in 2002, a scene that could be replicated outside my house today!

But only if Mike Guest's Lambda was used.

Ahhhh John, it's a long chassis 8th so Mike's car will need a stretch!

Another Lambda.  This is a picture of a prototype on Mont Cenis in 1922, taken supposedly by Vincenzo.  Not much weather protection and that V8 Trikappa tender car would have been fun in those conditions without front wheel brakes

Oops, you're correct. I noticed the strips on the rear wing and Mike's is the only car I know like that, although he has a few more. Regards, John

Was sooooooo tempted to get the Fulvia out this morning for a play in the snow ... but I'd have to get two 'every day' cars (including my RWD one) off the drive first and that didn't happen.

Have some good pictures of my Fulvia in snow some years back in the Peak District so she's not just a fair weather car!

And if I wake up to snow on Sunday morning then other cars or not she's coming out of the garage!

P.S. Thotos ... that picture is so cool. It actually looks like a model diorama although I know it's not!
