Title: Fulvias and fuel Post by: stuwilson128 on 01 April, 2011, 08:16:44 PM I have had the following query from somebody who is buying a Fulvia Zagato in Spain and is planning to drive it back to the UK and needs to know about the fuel that he should be using. Any advice will be gratefully received!
"Does the Fulvia 1.3S run on unleaded or do I have to use additives or is a high octane an option? The owner says he runs it on Shell V Power but I can't always guarantee this in Spain." Title: Re: Fulvias and fuel Post by: Jan on 01 April, 2011, 08:50:29 PM The lead (or lack of it) should not be a problem, I have been using unleaded without any additive in my 1.3 FSZ for many years.
Beware in France though for the regular 95 octane. This is now sold as 95E10, meaning 10 pct is biofuel i.e. ethanol, which does not go well with seals and gaskets in old engines. Thanks for the information re 95E10, as I didn't get to France last year I haven't run across it, but I'll certainly keep my eyes open now! Don't think lead was ever the issue it was made out to be except for older engine designs. Lancia engines were always advanced for their day.
