P Title: Re: Lancia Aurelia B50 del 1950 convertible ...60.000 € Post by: williamcorke on 28 November, 2011, 11:46:27 PM Not sure if anyone has a theory about why, but there's a surprising number of B50 Farina convertibles for sale at the moment. I don't remember such a glut before. The one that Frank's spotted is the cheapest I've seen, yet...
Here are some more. 1950, white, in the Netherlands and for sale for a while now. I like this car - asking price is 80k Euros. I have some more pictures of it I could post if anyone wants to know more. Another car with a 2L engine, supposedly from new. Intruigingly, the grey car listed above is also being marketed by Erker. I wonder what price he's asking. The Aurelia Convertible is a B24. The B50 Cabriolet is a chassis bodied car. The Spider is also a B24, and costs three times the price of a Cabriolet! To learn more about these cars look out for an article by Classic & Sportscar early in the new year, where all three are tested together. My B50 was originally fitted with a 2000cc engine that I still have, although it is currently fitted with a B12 2266cc engine that has been bored out to almost 2400cc and fitted with a 40DCL carb that produces about 100Bhp, a useful increase over the original B50s 56Bhp 1750cc engine! .............it goes quite well....... Title: Re: Lancia Aurelia B50 del 1950 convertible ...60.000 € Post by: Parisien on 29 November, 2011, 04:04:26 PM So the difference between the two/three from a fabrication view point is monocoque body? And cabriolet/convertible.....wasn't just a French word for soft top versus and English one? The spyder then...... must look out that magazine, thanks.

Out of interest the Grey car for sale in Italy is the chassis number before mine. For those who like a challenge there is this B50 Cabriolet for sale http://www.martinwillems.nl/frames/frame_auto_werk.html Title: Re: Lancia Aurelia B50 del 1950 convertible ...60.000 € Post by: chrislg on 30 November, 2011, 09:27:43 AM Of course if we are being picky, in a Lancia brochure for the Aurelia B24 see http://www.aureliaspider.com/html/article3-4.asp (http://www.aureliaspider.com/html/article3-4.asp) (by the way this web site is quite nice) 'Spider' is actually spelt with an 'i' not with an 'y'.
