Title: Rallye Monte Carlo Historique Final Stages Post by: peterbaker on 03 February, 2012, 07:01:26 PM The cars are waiting in Monaco ready to depart for the three sections in the mountains above the Principality that make up the traditional final loop, including the famous Col du Turini. Sixty four cars have officially retired but the Fulvia of the Graham brothers continues and is currently just outside the top fifty. They have been on studded tyres all day. First car is due back on the harbour side at 02.00hrs in the morning

They had been suffering a misfire all day and half an hour from Monaco while driving the last section the engine coughed back and a small fire broke out. Rallying can be a hard sport and to retire after six days can only be described as very disappointing.

Apparently Sandro Munari did not compete owing to the death of Mario Manucci before Christmas but attended the dinner. http://www.therallysite.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10126&Itemid=126 |
