Could someone please clarify this for me........ will 6x13 cromodora wheels fit my 1969 S1 rallye s without altering the wheel arches? I’ve spoken to a couple of people who have given me conflicting advice & I’m now completely confused. Thanks. Trev.

The wheels will fit.But the size and aspect ratio of the tyres should  be considered.richard

Hi Richard..... thanks for you comments. Would you have any thoughts on which tyre size would be best for these wheels? i've also been offered a set of 5.5x14 Cromodora wheels from a 2000hf. Would these be a better option?  Trev.

Hi Trev,those 2000HF wheels are 14x5.5J so probably would be a better fit.I do prefer the look of the Cromodoras though.The Cromodoras are particular to the 1600HF I think.However my  favourite wheels for most models are the steel ones with hubcaps and trim. Best regards richard

Arnt series 1 hubs bigger than s2 or 2000hf though, i didn't think that s2 alloys fitted s1 without machining the center bore out bigger  ???

I fitted a new set of 5.5x14 minilites to my series 3 not everyone taste but mine does get used rather alot.
A piccy of mine on a 1000mile Scotland trip.

Yes s1 hub centres are larger so s2 wheels do need machining.The wheels on my s1 sport are 2000HF steel wheels with enlarged centres(correct wheels in store) An easy job to get done though.richard

I think the original post mentioned 13inch wheels, which I thought would be S1 anyway. S2 wheels are 14 inch but the centres need machining to fit S1.

But as well as fitting the hub, will it fit the wheelarches, given the 6 inch width?

Hi Guys.......thank you all so much for taking the time to respond to my question. I have just returned to Fulvia ownership after a gap of 25years, when i was fortunate enough to have owned a 1976 Fulvia Coupe while at Uni. I now own beautiful 1969 silver S1 Rallye 1.3s, although I really wanted a S1 1600hf....... but one’s allowed to dream!   

I have carefully removed & safely stored the bumpers, hubcaps & SS rims leaving the cream 4.5x14 steel wheels, which I do like, but just feel that a set of Cromodora wheels would be better. Hence my question. The S1 6x13 Cromodora’s appear to be compatible without any alterations to the wheel arches, as opposed to the 5.5x14 Cromodora’s from the 2000hf, need to be machined to fit the bigger S1 wheel hubs..........oh decisions!
                       
I've also found some wheel arch extensions.......are these straight forward to fit?

Check carefully the S1 6 x 13s as some may suffer from metal fatigue more commonly than S2 6 x 14 s (usually a different alloy),

......... that's now my concern. Maybe i'd be better off getting some replica Alloy Cromodora wheels.

My vote is put the steel wheels back on - with or without the rims and hubcaps.

And mine, but IMHO better with hub caps and trim rings.

Gentlemen, I’m still pondering the idea of fitting 6x13 cromodora wheels to my S1 Rallye S. I prefer the look of these against my second option; the 5.5x14 2000hf wheels, which i'm aware need to be machined to fit.

The question now is; does any one have a set that they’re willing to sell, or know of someone who does. Alternatively do you know if replicas are available, as I suppose this would avoid any metal fatigue issues.

I would guess around £250 a wheel (Originals are ~ €700 a set). EBay.it ( or http://www.autobelle.it/search/cerchi_per_lancia_fulvia.php , or subito.com ) is the best place but you could also try people like Omicron, Pete Harding etc to see if they know of any.
