Title: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: Andy D on 05 October, 2012, 04:41:11 PM Not officially an Italian car event, but AutoItalia are organising the event and have set aside an Italian club stand area - there should be a great selection of cars. Only one week to go.
Details from AutoItalia Magazine: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival – Sunday October 14th A repeat of last year’s successful inaugural event. Competition cars from all ages will be put through their paces on the adjacent Mercedes-Benz World test track. Selected cars will also run up the demanding Brooklands test hill. Visitors can expect to see a wide variety of competition cars including Formula 1, F5000, GTs and Touring cars and Group B rally cars. This is the only venue in the UK where visitors can get really close to the action. Although Italian cars are a feature of this event, there are plenty of other vehicles to see and hear. For example, in 2011 we had the ex-Nelson Piquet F1 Benetton on track accompanied by a Group B Metro 6R4 and the monster, record breaking Napier Railton. Something for everyone. Latest news is that there will be an area set aside for Italian car clubs. This is a great late season opportunity to display your car. If you have an interesting competition car and would like to take part in the activities, please apply to the organisers at: gbpromotions@virginmedia.com TICKET INFORMATION Adult £10.00 Senior Citizen/Student £9.00 Children (5-16) £5.50 Children under 5 FREE Family ticket £27.00 (2 adults & up to 3 children) www.brooklandsmuseum.com Tel: 01932 857381 Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: fay66 on 07 October, 2012, 12:11:52 PM Andy,

x fingers for good weather Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: fay66 on 14 October, 2012, 04:37:04 PM Well after arriving at Brooklands about 10.30am and leaving at 1pm, and after frequent visits back to where the Lancia's were parked, I can only conclude they all arrived by autopilot!
The only Lancia motor club member I saw was Tony with his camera as usual, as I arrived, during the remaiming 2.1/2 hours I was there (had to get back for the dogs) I didn't see one Lancia member, the one Lancia whose driver was with it was a very nice Dedra HF Turbo, although he wasn't a member, although he did say he is just about to join. My main reason for going was to meet up at what is probably the last get together before the winter :'( It was not to be. Photos to follow. A few pictures from the event today.
Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: Andy D on 14 October, 2012, 08:03:31 PM I'm sorry we missed you Brian - I was around and about the Lancia area for about half an hour before going over to the MBW track just before 12 but then didn't get back until after 1. I hope you had a good trip back.
I did take quite a few pictures today and they can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8165854@N08/sets/72157631768865333/ It was a good event and I would recommend it to anybody who hasn't been before. Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: Thotos on 14 October, 2012, 08:48:26 PM The weather certainly turned out perfect which helped to make this a good event. I had also brought some of the clubs special Tools along in the hope of drumming up a bit of business for them, one was the twin carburettor balancer I made reference to, and posted pictures of when talking about balancing carbs thread the other day. and the Fulvia Front Wheel Bearing Tools. Second time I've brought them along to an event and taken them home again, the previous time was the Gammas attendance at the Bedfordshire Steam Fair when they were let down by the organisers not saving them room in the Classic Cars display area as promised and I failed to find any of the cars or owners :( Brian 8227 8) PS, who owns the lovely Gussie? I can't remember seeing it before. Brian 8227 8) Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: ben on 14 October, 2012, 10:40:36 PM Sorry we failed to meet up Brian. I was there in the afternoon and reckon I missed you by about 10 minutes!!
Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: ben on 14 October, 2012, 10:57:53 PM The Gussie owner is Dale Hicks-----lucky chap!
Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: Neil on 15 October, 2012, 12:14:29 AM Dale's recent acquisition only recently been registered in the UK... a story to follow we hope!

Great photos. Sorry I missed it - had planned to go but then Harvest Festival with daughter's brownies and all afternoon helping with school project scuppered my chances. There's always next year. Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: Neil on 15 October, 2012, 01:44:33 PM I am surprised no one has spotted the 'imposter' in my last photo, a RHD Delta that arrived mid-afternoon, wearing a non Italian badge... the number plate has FIAT Auto on it which was unexpected.
Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: Thotos on 15 October, 2012, 01:59:55 PM Presumably you mean this white one?

We only need the series Delta 2 to complete the lineup.
Title: Re: Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival Oct 14th Post by: TonyLanciaBeta on 16 October, 2012, 09:14:32 PM Brian sorry I didn't get a chance to chat, after you arrived I had to shoot off to the track for the start of the track runs

My navigator was returning home for the day as he's no other than 'Brooklands Bertie':) P Thanks for the photo Tony, great shot as usual! "Fay" is wearing her winter warmer as I got fed of paying £40+ for thermostats that don't work, but she warms up lovely with the muff on, I took it off after parking and drove home without, by which time the weather was considerably warmer and she didn't need it. Do you mind me asking where you got your radiator muff please? I have one for jacky's B24S Convertible but I have never seen one for sale for a S1 Fulvia Sedan.
