Emberton did quite a bit of work in Blackpool including the Pleasure Beach, which has recently been restored to some of its former glory – see photo below. Apparently he went on to design roller-coaster rides and related fun things elsewhere.
Emberton is not a common name and when John Turner was under the care of Professor Mark Emberton at University College London Hospital he asked him if he was related – and indeed he was (and still is) Joseph’s Grandson. Colin |
