Title: Hemingway Post by: Richard Fridd on 07 May, 2013, 06:16:37 PM Many will have seen it before, but this is the first time I have come across the photo, which I think goes rather well with the well known Ernest Hemingway Aurelia pictures. Are there any more pics of his Flaminia around?

Does anyone know better? Great Flaminia pic by the way, Richard. Title: Re: Hemingway Post by: Richard Fridd on 07 May, 2013, 08:57:20 PM I am only the messenger, but that Flaminia photo is quite a shot! these photos suggest B21

Not seen the remainder pics either, thanks P Title: Re: Hemingway Post by: Richard Fridd on 08 May, 2013, 05:49:50 AM Here are the front pictures. The small one is from http://velocetoday.com/lifestyle/lifestyle_46.php with the wording "Ernest Hemingway stands beside his Lancia B10 sedan while on a trip through Europe in 1954"

Here it is:
http://www.viva-lancia.com/lancia_fora/read.php?82,327310 (http://www.viva-lancia.com/lancia_fora/read.php?82,327310) This is the only reference that relates these well known pictures to the owner of the car, Kechler, and his driver (Adam de Simon, seen in the photo below). It seems likely that the model of Aurelia would have been correctly cited in these references. Apparently they drove more than 13,000 miles around Spain between 30th June and 4th August 1953. An impressive distance on the Spanish roads of the time. (http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/2787/88758930pi4.jpg) |
