Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Richard Fridd on 23 October, 2013, 06:13:16 PM Oxfam and elsewhere. Anyone know the famous gent in the last two?
Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Richard Fridd on 08 October, 2014, 09:56:03 AM Not all Lambda, but three pages, if of interest to members http://audiovis.nac.gov.pl/search/ I quite like the snow scenes photos (This requires typing "Lancia", into the "search box". Can't find a direct link)

I'm hoping Alan can tell me where and when it was taken. I hope it was insured. Brian 8227 8) Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Richard Fridd on 21 October, 2014, 04:25:01 PM From http://www.jsasoc.com/Family_archive/rjs-photos.htm
Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: JohnMillham on 06 November, 2014, 11:49:07 AM Another old photo. On the back it has "Jacey's 5th. Series" Does anyone know anything about it? Strange pick - up body. Unusual wheel trims, not quite the same as Mike Guest's, but it is an earlier car.
Regards, John Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Tony Stephens on 07 November, 2014, 06:39:13 PM Something in the back of my mind tells me this is the car which was rebuilt
by Ron Jewell. I don't know where that went to. Over to you, Tim for further info? Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: JohnMillham on 07 November, 2014, 08:33:48 PM Something in the back of my mind tells me this is the car which was rebuilt Quite correct, Tony. I went to the Phoenix last night and Gerald and Mike Benwell knew. It's now in Holland in the hands of Jost and Heidi, but looking like a normal Lambda (apart from the shotgun mounted on the side of the bonnet!) by Ron Jewell. I don't know where that went to. Over to you, Tim for further info? Regards, John Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Sebastien on 09 November, 2014, 04:02:39 PM Road accident!
The victim will go into the pot, and make a nice supper. Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Sebastien on 09 November, 2014, 04:10:12 PM At first glance a Lambda, with balloon.
At second glance, not so sure! Is it really a Lambda? What could it be? (Found yesterday at Epoqu'Auto, in Lyon) Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Richard Fridd on 12 November, 2014, 10:11:31 AM From http://www.prewarcar.com/index.php#content

(Found yesterday at Epoqu'Auto, in Lyon) ???Dumb irons. Scuttle very short and not sure there is enough of a rump. Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Sebastien on 21 November, 2014, 05:30:01 PM Yes! Also a very big car!
Bu certainly italian. My first idea: early Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8 Another possibility, prompted by an article in this month's Viva Lancia: a late Lancia Trikappa (there is a similar car in a 1922 Trikappa advertisement, reproduced on page 30 of "La favolosa Lancia") The relatively short bonnet might hide a big V8 better than an inline 8. Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: frankxhv773t on 23 November, 2014, 05:12:48 PM I would say the rear axle is too far back for a chassis-less car too. It must be something with a chassis frame but the style is so similar to a Lambda Balloon.

Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: JohnMillham on 23 January, 2015, 04:17:50 PM The dates of the first three photos are wrong. The first and second photos are of an earlier car and the third is an 8th series, which was later. Strange door handles, too.

Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: rogerelias on 24 July, 2015, 09:07:42 PM Looking at the shape and depth of the rad, it looks like Dilambda, also the shape of the headlamps makes me think the same.
Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: Dilambdaman on 24 July, 2015, 09:39:40 PM Correct Roger, Dilambda. See page 52 LANCIA by Michael Frostick were the caption reads "Murphy looking duller than usual on its all too familiar background."
Robin. Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: davidwheeler on 09 August, 2015, 05:06:42 PM The dates of the first three photos are wrong. The first and second photos are of an earlier car and the third is an 8th series, which was later. Strange door handles, too. Actually, I think it is a VIIth with the slightly lower radiator and the thicker headlight rims.Regards, John Title: Re: Some old photos Post by: JohnMillham on 09 August, 2015, 07:19:00 PM The dates of the first three photos are wrong. Anyway, must be 1928+
