Title: Flaminia Touring 3C History Reg 303 NHO Post by: lancialulu on 21 May, 2013, 09:39:47 PM Hi I have received an urgent plea for information from Andrew Noakes - freelance journalist. Please see below. If you know any information please contact me.
Hi, I'm researching the history of a Lancia Flaminia 3C (reg 303 NHO) for a feature in Classic Cars. Previous owners of the car include: Fred Storey 1971 Hugh Gledhill 1971 Robert Kitchen 1973 Brian Clascick 1976 Ian Norbury 1978 Geoffrey Burgon 1991 Michael Estorick 1995 Clive Miller 1998 Darryl Kennedy 2002 Cedric Egby 2007 I wonder if any of these people are known to the Lancia MC? I'm particularly interested in the earlier ones - although they may no longer be with us perhaps other family members are in the club? I have advised him that Cedric Egby is still on our register as owner according to 2011 member list but it seems to have been sold recently at Brightwells??. Thanks Tim Title: Re: Flaminia Touring 3C History Reg 303 NHO Post by: donw on 22 May, 2013, 08:51:28 AM Ian Norbury was a member but died some years ago, he was a friend of Norman Stuart and lived in Cheshire.

Martin Buckley knew him and his cars well and might be worth contacting. See Martin’s piece in this obituary for Burgon: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/sep/22/geoffrey-burgon-obituary
Michael Estorick should be contactable through the Estorick Collection gallery in Islington N1 – see: http://www.estorickcollection.com/home.php I knew the car when Michael owned it when it could be seen parked in the street in Primrose Hill with an old “McGovern for President” sticker in the window, presumably dating from the late 1960s. Title: Re: Flaminia Touring 3C History Reg 303 NHO Post by: Jay on 02 October, 2013, 06:59:07 PM The article is the latest (November) issue of Classic Cars. I remember listening to auction live on the web, although Jeremy Ewen paid £38K this is before buyer’s commission and VAT. By Jeremy’s description and work required the car sounds rougher than Brightwells description, as i thought £42k was OK value for an ultra rare RHD 3C.
Didn’t like the part where one ex journalist described the car as ‘it’s all style and not a lot of substance’, i can only assume the engine wasn’t at it best. I think they go like a rocket past 3500 rpm and normally drive mine at unprintable speeds. |
