Title: Re: Hillclimb Post by: Dilambdaman on 07 August, 2013, 03:23:14 PM From 1951 Looks like Firle Beacon near Lewes East Sussex to me. Robin. Title: Re: Hillclimb Post by: Richard Fridd on 10 August, 2013, 09:49:59 AM Firle it is! I havn't been there to my knowledge, nor to Prescott unfortunately. Not the South Downs but the North Downs, here is a venue near to Maidstone, which would be nice to revive, but no doubt plenty of 'red tape' compared with the time the black and white photo was taken. Also one from the bottom of the climb.
Title: Re: Hillclimb Post by: Richard Fridd on 11 August, 2013, 05:58:51 AM Another climb

It was a sport with a substancial following in the 1950s and 1960s. This Sunday scene was at Boxley'. Haven't been able to find anything more about it though. Richard
