Title: 1990 LANCIA DELTA HF INTEGRALE 4WD RED RHD, ANGLIA CAR AUCTIONS Post by: Derek Moore on 10 November, 2013, 08:26:00 PM Well they don't hang about these dealers, do they! I went to Anglia Car Auctions in Kings Lynn yesterday to look at this very car. It was an absolute peach, with punters crawling all over it. Estimated at £5500 - £7000 by the auctioneers, it sailed up to £10200 + buyers premium. However I had already found that it had, apparently, sold on Ebay in early September for £5087. I don't know whether that deal fell through and the original seller put it into the auction, or if the successful Ebay bidder thought he might turn a quick profit. In any case, £5087 to £10200 in a couple of months is good going. Now South Norfolk Classics are now trying to make yet more money out of it, after one day. He reckons he spent three hours cleaning it. Well you could have eaten your dinner off it at the auction. It's already bid up to £8200, although I'm really not sure how far it's likely to go. You Integrale boys would have a much better idea than me, it being Right hand drive, albeit a John Whalley conversion. I'm going to keep my eye on this little drama to see how it plays out.

Maybe HF turbo prices will start to rise now that the Integrales are going for big money? Thanks Mark.. I forgot I'm going on hols for a week, so I'll be picking up this thread again when I get back. I see the bid is at £8100 and hasn't changed since last night.

However, I haven't recorded that it's RHD or what the price what but I'll make a note now that it's being sold again.
Title: Re: 1990 LANCIA DELTA HF INTEGRALE 4WD RED RHD, ANGLIA CAR AUCTIONS Post by: Paul Greenway on 12 November, 2013, 12:48:23 PM This car is described as being a John Whalley RHD conversion since new. In 1990 the 8V integrale was not available in the UK, it had been phased out in mid '89 with the advent of the 16v, although some cars crept onto 'G' plates. In Germany and Switzerland you could purchase an 8V catalyst version that ran alongside the 16v that looked like a 16v and had the 16v suspension set up but had 8v Kat badging. This car appears to be one of those with the 16v bonnet and wheels, however it has the earlier 'HF integrale' grille badge and sits like the earlier 8v car. Strange! For me it is way overpriced, and despite being in excellent condition it is hardly original with the Evo roof spoiler, non standard exhaust system and incorrect badging amongst other items. Here is a link (which may need to be pasted): http://www.europeanclassiccars.co.uk/cars_37.html Peter has done everything that this car needs to bring it to top mechanical condition, all to his usual very high standards, and the car is absolutely ready to go without further work or expenditure. Do not be put off that it says "price on application": you may be very pleasantly surprised! RHD on an Integrale is a disadvantage I would think, however well executed, as it alters the original characteristics. I understand that an exact equivalent of the original steering rack was not available when these cars were converted so a slower rack was fitted, probably from a related Fiat group car. Also, though the pedal box moves to the right hand side the master cylinder and servo stay on the left! The two are joined together by a transverse brake pedal rod and linkage. This does not make for as positive brake pedal as on the original LHD cars. I am going to put this in the cars for sale section too. I looked at changing my steering rack on my HF Turbo for a power steering one from a Regatta as Diane found the HF to heavy for her, John Brain and myself looked at it and while it was feasible it was too much hassle to do, so I sold the HF Turbo and bought my first Series 3 Auto instead.Brian 8227 8) Title: Re: 1990 LANCIA DELTA HF INTEGRALE 4WD RED RHD, ANGLIA CAR AUCTIONS Post by: Derek Moore on 24 November, 2013, 08:08:37 PM Well it's shown as sold for £11650, so good luck if the deal goes through. I see that the winning bidder has only one feedback, so maybe the saga continues!

Title: Re: 1990 LANCIA DELTA HF INTEGRALE 4WD RED RHD, ANGLIA CAR AUCTIONS Post by: Derek Moore on 24 November, 2013, 10:40:22 PM So now we know. On again for £13950, Buy it Now. Some chance! Amazingly there is now another?? RHD being advertised on Auto Trader for £10990 in Bedford. No picture yet, but one assumes it is a different car. Does anyone know how many RHD versions were made?

Some were crashed and not repaired, and there were 4 white press cars. no advantage at all to buying a RHD conversion the car is far better as it was intended without a regatta diesel steering rack, HF turbo pedal box and twice the normal length of brake pipes.. Very rare now to find any even in Europe. Paul |
