Title: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Charles Frodsham on 28 January, 2014, 09:22:23 PM I have just submitted a 'Car Clubs' application for the Silverstone Classic this year.
As last year (but organised a little earlier!) this will allow LMC members to buy discounted 'early bird' tickets on a 2 for 1 basis, together with an infield car pass. I will publish the reference code as soon as I have confirmation from the event organisers. The closing date for entries will be the 31st May, so book early! I will plan to attend again this year with the Flaminia PF, together with a good friend who has just bought a lovely cream Flaminia 2.8 PF! Would be great to see a broad spectrum of Lancia's on display at this great National event! Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 Post by: fay66 on 28 January, 2014, 11:06:43 PM Thank you Charles, what are the dates please?

25th,26th and 27th July I believe. Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 Post by: Jay on 29 January, 2014, 08:15:00 AM It was I my first time last year and rate it as the best event of the year, spent most of the day in the pits watching (right up close) teams strip and tune theirs cars. Even the 2hrs trip back to drop by brother off and back to Kingston in torrential rain with the Flaminai windscreen leaking and one speed wipers didn’t put the dampers on the day.
So hopefully there will be 3 Flaminia in attendance. Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 Post by: fay66 on 29 January, 2014, 10:43:22 AM Oops! 25th,26th and 27th July I believe. Thank you Charles. Dave, will yours be ready? Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: dannels on 29 January, 2014, 06:47:14 PM Hi Charles,
I'm on track to make Silverstone in my GT this year. I'm pushing hard to get it finished after 6 years. My engine will be back together and running for the first time in 30 years next month. It was great to see your and Julian's flaminias last year - and I can't bear the thought of turning up in my Volvo again!!! So that should be 4 Flaminias in! Are you going all weekend on on a specific day? Cheers Dave Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Charles Frodsham on 29 January, 2014, 08:26:46 PM Hi Dave
That's fantastic news if you can do it in time. Four Flaminia's! I am planning on the whole weekend at the moment, probably travel up from Cardiff on the Friday. Keep up the good work Charles Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: neil-yaj396 on 30 January, 2014, 07:11:45 AM Charles
Thanks on behalf of the Committee for organizing this again. I posted the contact details for the Bertone parade lap on the separate thread which hopefully you have seen (if any Bertone cars are attending - I'm sure a replica Stratos would be acceptable). What day are you thinking of going? I thinking of Saturday as there is more racing plus stuff in the early evening, that's if it doesn’t pour down like last year. I looking forward to seeing your car in the flesh and it would be a shame if i missed one of the best GTs around. Cheers Julian Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: dannels on 07 February, 2014, 06:50:21 PM Hi Julian,
I've splashed on a sat/sun ticket (members discount made it slightly less painful)- just in case I have issues making it on Saturday! If all is running OK - Will go for Sat on my own - but tempted to bring my son on Sunday as well...if the wife lets me!!!! Cheers Dave Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: SanRemo78 on 07 February, 2014, 07:23:14 PM Charles Thanks on behalf of the Committee for organizing this again. Neil The Stratos Enthusiasts Club will have a stand there as usual Neil, perhaps the two clubs ought to co-ordinate for the event for a parade lap together? We were scheduled for one last year but we got rained off….. Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Dave Gee on 15 March, 2014, 09:36:42 AM I have been telephoned by a club member who wishes to bring his Flaminia and cannot find the code on the thread. I have had a look and cannot find it either, and the link takes you Silverstone, where the first box you have to fill in is the code! Can anyone advise re the code number as time is very short to get the Early Bird discount.
Many thanks Dave Gee Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Charles Frodsham on 15 March, 2014, 11:35:40 PM Link for offer code is on page one of this thread about 11th post down. The top link takes you to members only pages. Enter thread for Silverstone Classic, and code is there.
Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Charles Frodsham on 21 March, 2014, 04:59:34 PM I have just checked with organisers, and just to clarify.....
The deadline for 'Early Bird' Car club deal is the 31st March. This is the cheapest way to enter the event. The deadline for the Car club deal is the 31st May. This will be slightly more expensive. Both include the 2 for 1 deal, and infield pass for your Lancia. If anybody wishes to take more than one car, get in touch and I may be able to get something organised. ;) Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Jay on 27 March, 2014, 01:57:55 PM Just purchase a Sat and Sun pass, should be there both days in the Flaminia, looking forward to seeing, I think now, 5 Flaminias all in a row, lets try to make it more :).
Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Charles Frodsham on 29 March, 2014, 09:16:53 PM Look forward to seeing you there with your Flaminia.
Just booked weekend tickets myself. ;D Yes, any more Flaminias out there......or any more Lancias? Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: alcarr on 30 April, 2014, 10:34:25 PM Hello
I may have missed the cut off date for the club display, but I have owned a Beta Spyder for just over a month and would have liked to take it to Silverstone for display. Is this possible or should I just go as a "punter" Regards Alan Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: sparehead3 on 01 May, 2014, 07:32:59 AM "The deadline for the Car club deal is the 31st May. We (those wot haven't decided yet) have a month .... Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Charles Frodsham on 24 May, 2014, 07:46:13 PM Just a reminder that the deadline for Car Club entry is the 31st of May.
So far we have: 3 Flaminia GTs and 2 Flaminia PFs 2 Fulvias and 1 Fulvia sport 2 Integrales 1 Flavia 1 Beta Spyder Thanks for your support. Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Jay on 27 July, 2014, 04:36:58 PM A few pictures from yesterday, great weather, great cars and great racing, watched the group C endurance cars at the end of the National Straight at sunset, all with glowing break disks, can’t recommend this event enough.
Once again Charles thanks for sorting it out. It’s a pity my clutch failed in Kingston town centre at kicking out time, 5mins from home, so couldn’t do it all again today. Next job, out with gearbox for a complete clutch and break overhaul. Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: DavidLaver on 27 July, 2014, 07:29:17 PM Pleased to hear it went well. What a turn out!!
PF looks good in cream and tan. What happened to that Touring's hub cap? Dodged the storms? David Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: dannels on 28 July, 2014, 11:40:43 AM The Touring without the hubcap is mine - it passed its MOT Friday afternoon - It was resisting being fitted on Saturday morning so I left it off
Many thanks to Charles for organising - a great weekend. I don't understand why more members don't go! Getting 4 Flaminia's there was quite an achievement - lets beat it next year. Does anyone have a Berlina, Convertible or Zagato?!! Title: Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - 25th - 27th July Post by: Charles Frodsham on 28 July, 2014, 04:29:22 PM A very big thank you to all those who attended, and thank you to those who brought their Lancias - a small, but significant collection of Lancia's!
Well done Dave for completing the restoration of your Flaminia in time (literally just in time!). Its a shame you couldn't make Sunday Julian, but good luck with the gearbox removal - if I can do it then anyone can! There was quite a lot of interest in the Flaminias (Flamini?) in general. Some recent purchases (since the last Silverstone event), and a few purchases pending. Look forward to hearing about them on the forum, and possibly seeing them next year. On a different note I would like to thank Charles on behalf of the Club for organising our presence once again at this event. Brian Mills |
