There's a 1965 colour card on ebay at the moment.

What are the names of the Flavia Zagato colours?  I can make out some but not all.

Would it be possible to get a photo of a car in each colour?

David et al, see attachment for a scan of my copy of this colour chart, it only has a limited number of the colours on as it is a snap shot at a point in time i.e. 64 / 65ish and the colours kept changing i.e. this chart does not cover all the possibilities - just to make things difficult. So you are ready for paint...............................

Bill Amberg's Flavia Sport is painted in Grigio Inglewood and is my Fulvia Sport 1600 (it was that colour when I bought the cars so I continued with it when I restored the car albeit only using the Zagato connection as justification).

BTW this is where we meet for the Essex monthly meeting (on third Wednesday of the month) for those yet to get to it!!!

Does "arcoveggio" mean anything?

Would that be the red on the HFs?

Not ready for paint - other than another bucket of rust killer and primer.  I still expect it to be restored to "as it was when it came off the road" and would love to know the exact shade of metallic blue its in.  Could it be this one?

Can't find any meaning for arcoveggio - doesn't mean to say it doesn't have one.

Arcoveggio did appear to be used on Flavia Sports and Fulvia HFs i.e. on 'works' cars in that period - see works Flavia Sport in Chuggas's Fulvia thread.

Who knows what colour your car ended up but this is the nearest period colour as used on a Sport.

I've seen that photo of chassis so many times and not noticed the car...

So....what year and colour name would that be?

may be the same as the Trautmann car and as Richard Thorne did some restoration on this car he may know the colour used

Same car in the daylight.  That does look close. 

I keep trying to come up with routes that "just happen" to pass Richard Thorne's to look at that grey one he has at the moment.

Having had parts books out to look at subframes I stumbled on the colours page.

The TAV lists Bleu Jamaica Lancia code 6984274 and 837-96257 DP (Dupont).  I've found it mentioned as a Fulvia colour: DP 847-96257 on the webpage:

On that same page GL 94-LAN-203 described as "Blu Jamaica Scuro"

On the subject of colour Ford "alpaca beige" and Rover "arum white" are recommended wheel colours.

I've got some colour cards for these. I've got some Fulvia colour sample sticks from the early '60's and a Glasurite catalogue that shows GL-LAN 203 as well. I've not got the paint mix though.

Also, Jamaica blue metallic is listed in a 1975 Glasurit catalog. It is noted as from 1969, without formula:

For Bleu Jamaica someone thought the Cliffe's Fulvia HF was that colour.

This is Jamaica Blue on a Fulvia (Sorry for the quality of the photo).
I can remember seeing quite a few Fulvia Sports (only the 1600) with the fur interior, it was only used for the seat facing, I always refered to it as 'dead rat' because it didn't wear well!

I think I'd have walked past thinking "a variation on Lancia Blue"

Speaking of Lancia blu, there are (in Glasurit land) two of them:

LAN 174 from 1966
LAN 438 from 1978

In addition, Glasurit also list  LAN 216, a very dark bleu dunkelblau from 1971.

In 1991, Lechler listed 1179 for Blu scuro used on s.1/2 B20s, then it was called simply Blu for s.3/4/5 (with Blu Scuro listed as 8015). Then for Flaminias, they listed 1332 as Blu Lancia.

Max Meyer numbers are even more confusing,in part due to changes in paint systems in the 1960s-70s.

In addition to incomplete, inconsistent, and changing information, to date we have been unable to find a cross-index between these three manufacturers, Max Meyer, Glasurit and Lechler.

Clear as mud? 

One solution is to use the Glasurit numbers with some care ….  Another way is to find an original sample from a Lancia you believe to be correct and unfaded and get it matched.

Two pictures of the same car from page one of this thread, a reminder of how much difference light/camera/etc make to what "a colour" looks like.  The German car, in the day light but what looks like quite a grey day, is somewhere between these two.

Being so used to "same colour looks quite different" it took me an embarrassingly long time to work out the colour swatch pictures are the "paint sample" and "information on the reverse" not a pair of colour samples.

Having looked at the table, anyone got pictures of cars in AZZURRO LA PLATA and OTTANIO ARCADIA?

The first is quite cheerful, the second has the green tinge which I now think was oxidisation and slime "as found" rather than how anyone ever wanted it to look.

Again to get the relevant photos on the same page, some as found photos, and what a clean and cut did to it.

Mostly my "screen time" is on a small chromebook at a "standing desk" (on top of a cupboard) downstairs.  Its now a real treat to sit at the desk upstairs and look back at some of the photos on the forum on a proper big screen.  Quite a different experience.

I've only just replaced the pair of screens upstairs.  They were old CRTs (one gave up, sold the other very well on ebay, a nice suprise after 20 years with me and maybe 30 years old) and colour from one screen to another was quite different.  At least now got a pair upstairs.

Are CRT monitors "retro" collectables now?

My CRT went to a gamer in his 20s to play "really old stuff" from 2010.  Its what he grew up with.

'Arcoveggio' is the name of a horse racing track in Bologna. If it is attached to a Lancia colour it is perhaps for fanciful reasons, by analogy with Grigio Newmarket, for example.
'Blu Jamaica' is I believe a late series 1 Fulvia colour, used on the GTE and the Coupé Rally 1.3S. It is a deep metallic blue, but lighter than a navy blue. There is a very smart Coupé 1.3S painted in it in the Club, but I don't know whose it is.
