Lancia Motor Club

Given the success of last year's Fulvia 50 event, and comments made by Fulvia owning members from time to time querying why there isn't an event for Fulvias, Sarah and I are thinking of organising a weekend in East Anglia next June.

The outline would be 2 nights bed breakfast and dinner in a comfortable 2-3 star standard hotel with adequate parking and interesting driving tours (on the Friday afternoon, Saturday am and pm, and Sunday morning) into the east Anglian countryside, visiting interesting towns/villages/coast/Omicron etc. Lunch on Saturday would be included in the overall price of c£350.

Navigation on the tours would by tulip road book or "follow the leader" but nothing competitive - just to increase the fun. This is not a rally per se, more Fulvia Friends meeting up for a weekend of enjoying the company of fellow Fulvisti and their cars.

Although primarily aimed at Fulvias we are interested in all Lancias and know that some Fulvia owners are still in the process of restoring their cars.

If there is enough interest I will open the booking during December and will require a £100 non returnable deposit with the booking. The balance (c£250) to be paid by the end of February 2015.

We need a minimum of 12 teams to be viable and if this looks likely then we will push the button.

Tim, I hope to add some Surrey Fulvias to your list if you still have space available.

At the moment I do not have enough interest but please give me some more as I had hoped my announcement in VL would have come out in November not December....

Still hoping to take this forward.

I have enough potential interest to take this to the next stage of fixing date and accommodation.

I will be contacting individual members who have expressed an interest but would like to hear from others who have yet to declare!

I have firmed up a date (subject to others confirming) of Friday 26 June / Saturday 27th June/ Sunday 28th June.

I had hoped that the event was published earlier in VL but it seemed not to be.

I hope to finalise matters in the next couple of weeks and will require a non refundable deposit of £250 during Jan/Feb.

The dates are Friday 26- Sunday 28 June.

13 teams assembled from various parts of the country at Omicron on Friday afternoon for a tour of the workshops and various technical demonstration, then a visit to Elizabeth's rare breed farm.

Saturday was a drive up to the north Norfolk coast visiting the Muckleburgh Collection of world war one and two fighting equipment, then on to Brancaster for lunch and then to Holkham Hall to display the cars and watch some cricket in the sunshine.

Stiff drive to Ely tomorrow.

Tim and Sarah, excellent weekend we both enjoyed throughly, looking forward to the 2016 edition! 😀

                        Let me add my congratulations and thanks for a splendid weekend.If you do it again next year please put my name down now and the Fulvia has to be ready by then!!!
                        Sorry we missed the last meal but the Alfa clutch problem got steadily worse so we had to strike out for the motorway to stand any chance of making it back to Bristol on our own wheels.Did quite a few miles on the M25 hard shoulder when we ran into stop-go traffic and we were only able to go! Fortunately M4 was all clear.

Thanks to everyone who participated, and to the hotel and restaurants which by general consensus exceeded expectations.

A few photos from the weekend

Tim and Sarah did a great job organising the East Anglian Fulvia weekend, some lovely interesting places were visited, quite roads perfect Fulvia territory and a good hotel and food along the way,  with a good range of cars taking part which made quite a sight, pride of place at Holkham Hall estate overlooking the grounds and cricket match.  We looking forward to next outing in 2016!

Also, I should add the people too, an event needs people not just cars and scenery, we enjoyed meeting all the 'teams' and had some great conversations and hopefully made some new friends.

I'd just like to say on behalf of Margaret and myself thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome. It can be a bit daunting spending a weekend with a group of people you've never met before but Fulvia owners are such an inclusive bunch we felt as if we were among old friends.
And of course a big thank you to Tim and Sarah for all their hard work.
