:o P Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: brian on 29 October, 2014, 09:59:50 AM The Augusta is only marginally worse than mine was when I bought it in 1981. It will be a labour of love as the cost of restoration of an Augusta is not fully compensated in final value - even a March.
However if I were 20 years younger.......... It would be nice to know the chassis number just to see if there is any possible LMC history etc. Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: dannels on 29 October, 2014, 11:57:37 AM Ran when parked ;D
Not sure you can describe that as an Aurelia if less than half remains! Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: sparehead3 on 29 October, 2014, 12:57:00 PM FYI when I see things that interest me then I record them in the database with details of when it was for sale, how much, mileage, condition - it has been surprising how many have re-surfaced a few months later :) My interest is the non-integrale deltas (as that's what I know) and a good example will be on the NEC stand next month as I recorded it two years ago when on eBay - and now it's part of the club :)
But, at the least you do need a chassis number or registration otherwise we'd just end up with a database of 'unknowns' :) But, again, I suppose if there are very very few examples it may not be much of a problem there ! Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: DavidLaver on 29 October, 2014, 07:58:23 PM The Aurelia is a Halloween special. The Augusta looks an exciting prospect for someone. Substantially "more there than not". David Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: appiaman on 25 November, 2014, 10:48:58 AM Hi has anyone been to see this.
I want to buy this for wheels and other bids before I bid against anyone. I want to buy this for wheels and other bits before I bid against anyone. Christo It doesn't look like a parts car to me. Definitely worth restoring for lots of reasons, eventual value being one of them. You could probably buy a running Augusta saloon for what this project will go for! Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: JohnMillham on 25 November, 2014, 01:48:29 PM Mike Wheeler and I will be there tomorrow. If I were 20 years younger, I would have been very keen to get it.

If I were a few years younger I too would have been bidding for this. Please let us know the results. I am trying to sell a restored aurelia for £30000. Then someone pays that for pieces and the price for the Augusta is amazing. Maybe I should get mine back into pieces:) Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: Parisien on 26 November, 2014, 07:17:59 PM Breath taking, am going to cover my panels in lichen, distress them a bit more, dip all mechanical parts into etching acid....double their value!

Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: the.cern on 27 November, 2014, 08:56:04 AM An excellent result, well done.
I hope we will be able to see some more photographs as things get uncovered. Andy Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: JohnMillham on 27 November, 2014, 09:52:56 AM An excellent result, well done. I think you might be jumping to the wrong conclusions. I didn't buy any of it. (Too old!) perhaps one day we will find out who did.I hope we will be able to see some more photographs as things get uncovered. Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: Zetaman on 02 December, 2014, 11:19:52 AM Was anyone able to find the chassis number and indications of a Registration number? I took an interest in March Augustas in the 1970s when I bought a load of old Lancia spares from Middleton and Townsend in Edinburgh. They were then the oldest Lancia dealer in Scotland. The spares included parts of a green March Augusta that had been broken up in the 1960s. I found the owner and the car was 34-1840 in the list I offer below. This list is well out-of-date and I would welcome revisions to it.

The actual chassis plate was missing, but there were traces of the chassis number in the rust on the scuttle, but not clear enough to make out without a wire brush! Title: Re: Augusta March Special Tourer at Brightwells Post by: Sliding Pillar on 02 December, 2014, 01:26:56 PM This is 34-1078 that was recently sold at RM auctions.
