Title: 3 Ro and others Post by: simonandjuliet on 21 November, 2014, 05:51:08 PM I recently came across a brand new set of injectors for a 3 Ro commercial ! - Not something you come across every day. I would like to find a good home for them - but where do you start ?
There were also a couple of lovely books , a parts book for a Beta diesel (1954) and a WWII instruction and parts book for a Ro engined military vehicle ......these already have a good home and I will share a few pictures/TAVs if anyone is interested Title: Re: 3 Ro and others Post by: simonandjuliet on 19 January, 2015, 01:55:46 PM To finish off this story .....
Following the ad in January's Viva Lancia, I was contacted by a gentleman in Suffolk who has a 3RO engine - but it is in a 1919 FIAT 702 tractor !! Apparently the original petrol engine was very unreliable and the Lancia 3RO conversion was not uncommon. He is still refurbishing the tractor/engine and promises to let us know when it is running, hopefully this year . So the injectors have found a good home and will be used Title: Re: 3 Ro and others Post by: the.cern on 19 January, 2015, 02:24:02 PM That is wonderfully bonkers!!!!!

Obviously a crash gearbox, The Driver isn't very experienced at double Declutching going by the amount of graunching, The big lever on the floor is the gear change lever, The lever he is using that sprouts from the dash would appear be for a two speed axle, I had this arrangement on A Bedford S Type unit used as the tractor unit for my Car Transporter, A big Dennis Box Van I drove also had the same set up, but on both of these it was operated by pulling up, or pushing down a knob attached to the gear lever, this was a mechanical arrangement, the advantage being it doubles the number of ratios. How light the steering appears to be. Looks like you ratchet up the handbrake to it's on position. Can't for the life of me can think what the other lever is for unless it's to select 4WD was it fitted?. or possibly a power take off. What a glorious sound!
