http://www.brandshatch.co.uk/calendar/2015/may/masters.aspx

The LMC has again been invited to attend this years event, to be held like last year on a single day.

The club has been offered up to 30 tickets, and I will need to let them know numbers at the end of April.

Please drop me an email if you wish to be added to the list.

Regards

Simon Davis

David,

The organisers have only indicated that the ticket is for Sunday, possibly when all the racing is taking place.

Dear All,

So far without anyone seeing the latest magazine I have been asked for 19 tickets out of 30.

I am expecting the organisers to make contact with me at the end of April for numbers.

A very enjoyable day today.  I've never been to this event before and was quite surprised that it wasn't busier - a big contrast to the typical crowds at the Goodwood Revival.  Eight Lancias in all: four Fulvias, Delta, Montecarlo, B20 and Flaminia GT.

My photos from the day are here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8165854@N08/sets/72157652963159069

Thanks again for organising Simon.

A good day out, thanks for the tickets Simon.

Andy, you took some good photos despite the chain link fence giving a slight blurring effect.

Very impressive photos. You wouldn't have got such results with film! Well done.

The Delta is my pick of the Lancia line up.  That Austin 1300 is a bonefide classic now.  The Lotus Excel is a car I loved when new but just doesn't grab me these days.  Has a Metro's time come?

Excellent on track photos - a long lens and a monopod?  While I love the clusters of cars that Galaxy from the rear really works.

As well as getting up on banks if you know where to look at Brands Hatch they have "windows" through the mesh for photographers.  Ian Conway has some favourite spots where with some low steps he can see over the mesh.  For myself, only bothered to carry a pocket camera, I love the Grand Prix loop out in the woods where you stand above the track and really quite close on some corners.

Yes, great photos - thank you. Readers of ‘Lancia in Britain’ may have noticed that the B20 at Brands Hatch also visited Brooklands many years ago – see photo.

A long lens but no monopod.  With enough zoom you can frame a shot through the holes in the fence although the autofocus on my camera does occasionally focus in on said fence at just the wrong moment when a particularly nice machine comes into view...  I did walk out to part of the GP circuit but I must do it properly next time.

As somebody who used to own an MG Metro not that long ago, I can confirm that there is a thriving club with lots of passionate owners although cars are still relatively cheap.  The car in the picture is the MG Turbo and these are very rare now.

Some LMC lineup photos, we had a great location overlooking the track. Even without a monopod and 200mm lens through the fence, the F1 demo shots were not bad at the speeds they were travelling.

I used to own a 'C' plate MG Metro - because I couldn't afford an XR2 and definitely couldn't afford an integrale !

I've seen a couple and very very rare now I would imagine - I still have the Haynes Manual and a wheel trim somewhere for it :) - problem was it ran on leaded and I bought it just before unleaded came along. The exhaust always used to break off on long journeys and the engine pinked the whole time AND the turning circle was awful ( now I come to remember ) ... happy days.

Would I be right in thinking that the gentleman leaning on the B20's wing is the late great Tony Amato? In civvies and without a cigarette on the go!!!

Murf.
