I came across a Lancia spanner, code 8091030 recently. What intrigues me is that it is an imperial size - 5/8 & 9/16
I thought they were completely metric, so why is there an imperial one ? What is it for ? Am I being dense ?

On Flavias it was used to remove the Bendix fuel pump cover which was imperial.
-
Many fittings and threads on Lambdas are imperial, as Lancia used American made machinery at some stage. Augusta brakes are Lockheed and imperial, as are some Aprilia brakes.

I can't quite understand the mentality here in Italy..... at a Sunday car boot sale grandly advertised as an "Antique Market" I enquired, at a stall selling a few rusty tools, if he had a 14mm Allen key - required for the drain plug on the Appia diff and he said he would bring one for the next weeks sale.
During the week I bought a new one in a local tool shop for €4 but the following Sunday I asked the guy if he had remembered to bring the item.
Surprisingly he had and he "only" wanted €15 for it, I told him sorry but I had bought a new one for €4 so didn't want it......he quickly dropped his price to €4 ....... so now I have a spare one.

Thank you for all the answers, I knew that someone would know ! (re S1 Aurelia berlina, the parts book doesn't list it so I think they are after the "Aurelia price-hike" factor)
Re Italian prices, it can be like that here as well. Sometimes, though, you are lucky ......

My Fulvia front brake calipers are held together with 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch AF headed bolts. However I would not fancy undoing them with open-ended spanners!
-
And how about this one ?
Lancia ref 64-6582 , 46 and 41 mm and about 18" long .....
-
Truck spanner?
-
I would agree it's most likely for a truck. However, the 46mm end will fit an Aprilia clutch bearing nut!
