Yes, shame to be left out, although the 1300 Coupe was the direct replacement for the Fulvia.

Darn, clashes with BTCC weekend again 😰

And FWIW, the day after my birthday. I was being hurried out so as not to be an April Fool 😜

Dear All,

I know that the trackday was advertised again in this month's Viva Lancia but since that went to press we have achieved a full entry list - that is three years in a row.

Member, despite reminders, keep leaving their entries too late!

Regards and hope to see a good turnout in the paddock on the day. No charge for spectating but there will be a bucket in the Jackie Stewart Suite for £5 donations to the club coffers which would be much appreciated.

Is this true?
I just read above, that it IS true.
I'll shut up.

http://www.lanciamc.co.uk/news.htm - for a couple of pictures

I loved it ! What a great day out - the drive to and from was very mixed weather but it was sunny ( but cold ) at the track. Lots of variety and I bagged a few rides - the highlight being out with Tim in FOO ( sorry Martin and Mark :) )

It's always great to catch up with everyone after the ( endless ) winter break ....

Even saw a few tweets directed at the club with some pictures : https://twitter.com/lanciamc

What was the Fulvia that was keeping up with the Aston Vantage.....very impressive. It was red with a yellow tail. Anyone know the car?

I think it was a 1600 Fanalone with a fancy fuel injection system. I meant to get a picture of the under bonnet set up but it was covered in people fixing things.

Is this the one?

This photo features the ex Waterhouse Fanalone I think

Thanks to everyone who organised it. A nice day out. My track activity was curtailed by finding a pretty big screw in my tread but that didn't take much away from a lovely day.

I think I heard Barry Waterhouse's name mentioned by those delving under the bonnet.

The car you are thinking of is Justin Hildreth's with Kuglefisher into a bored out 1300 81mm dia pistons.....

That's the one. I was delighted to catch the Maserati and the Aston, but to be fair, they had been balked in traffic.
The other (true) Fanalone CUC20H was indeed once owned by Barry Waterhouse.
Mine is a total hybrid 1968 S1/S2 1.3 Rallye, with many mods including:
Kügelfischer mechanical injection
81mm forged, high compression pistons ~1436cc
Ridiculous cams
Self-made exhaust manifold and system
Gasflowed head
Modified suspension, too complex to detail here
AP Racing magnesium front brake calipers

You were certainly flying round the circuit behind that Maserati!

Like to have seen that, looks good. At first glance I thought it was the Paul le Clerq (spelling?) injected Fulvia resprayed. I was tricked by the grilles in the front wings. Then I remembered that Paul blanked off the rear quarter lights and changed the body quite a lot.

Justin,

Welcome to the forum.   Perhaps start a thread for your car's history and spec?

Alas am on the wrong computer to post photos at the moment...but on the way.  Been a few years since I've been, even on the morning there were moments when I thought I'd not get there or even bother, but had a lovely time.  It really is fantastic escapism and a really good turnout, cars and people.

David

Hi Justin
Fantastic to see your car in action...😁....I think a lot of people would be interested to hear more if you have time and don't mind sharing your experiences.

Great photos. Brings back happy memories - apart from that year when the Spitfire crashed on the circuit. I'm still trying to work out Justin's radiator. Can't quite see the size or position. Is it a fairly normal size squeezed down between the wing and the chassis leg?

Excellent weather made for a superb event particularly as it brought out lots of spectators. Just a shame that we could only stay until lunch time. Many thanks to Brian and Linda Mills and the team.

The Fanalone (yes, it is the ex Barry Waterhouse CUC 20H) is preforming so well now on the 45 Dellortos and subsequent rolling road session. Over 100mph indicated on the Lavent straight. :)
However, on the slowing down lap of Jonathan's run the solid bar between the accelerator cable and the carbs sheared in half. We increased the tick over and got back to the pits where with a kindly donated steel rod and cable ties a repair was effected allowing Robin to have his yearly dose of adrenalin rush. :o

I'm going off brand here, but I went along to the Classic Alfa track day at Goodwood yesterday and was surprised by just how quiet it was.  Admittedly I was only there for the afternoon, but there couldn't have been any more than 10 cars in the pit lane at any one time and I didn't see any queuing up in the paddock.  Apparently it was busier in the morning.

Not that much variety on track but lots of glorious sights and noises.  My pictures are here if anybody is interested:

Very nice indeed. Always loved the little Bertone coupes. I've always found it interesting how Alfa and Lancia answered the same brief for a small 2+2 in two completely different ways in the Bertone coupe and Fulvia.
