Title: Luggage tags Post by: DavidLaver on 09 November, 2016, 09:12:19 AM It looks like a case with no handle, but they are on the sides so it becomes a trunk? The luggage tags are a familiar thing, but it occurred to me I don't know what they were actually for... Just souvenirs? Addressing? Would they have any purpose for a CAR trunk rather than for rail or ship? https://www.classicdriver.com/en/collectible/1920s-black-louis-vuitton-auto-trunk?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Classic%20Driver%20Daily%202752016&utm_content=Classic%20Driver%20Daily%202752016+CID_28445b56044bae55764ac51a506b0969&utm_source=newsletter Title: Re: Luggage tags Post by: stanley sweet on 09 November, 2016, 10:45:32 AM First I thought if they named a hotel they might aid identification between a rail station and the hotel but as this is a car trunk that wouldn't be needed. Also one of them just says 'Swiss Alps' so in all probability I would say they were souvenirs with a bit of showing off thrown in.
