Title: Fulvia 1300 engine needed! Post by: ColinMarr on 21 December, 2016, 09:32:41 PM My good, impoverished and deserving friend Simon has just asked me to post this message on the Forum, which I have also posted on parts required:
Hello all, season's greetings... My everyday (and only) car, a 1972 Fulvia berlina (KPD 569K)'s engine is getting very tired. After 125,000 miles, cylinder number three is down to 65 psi compression and oil pressure is rarely registering at all, it really is time for a rebuild. But I cannot take the car off the road for long as I have no other family transport (bicycles, a tandem and a motorcycle don't count apparently...) So, I am looking for an engine that I can rebuild at comparative leisure. I would prefer a late 303 coupe engine, ideally complete with 35mm carburettors... I would be happy to return the berlina engine as an exchange but I suppose I ought to keep that with the car to preserve its originality... Given the workmanlike nature of the berlina, its comparatively low value and my financial position, I can't really offer a great deal of money but am happy to swap some skilled tech labour or writing/editing or other assistance for a discount... I can collect almost anywhere in the UK... Please help me keep this fine old car on the road... Thank you, Simon 07896 921115. Title: Re: Fulvia 1300 engine needed! Just a tad I would guess, for that price you could probaly rebuild the original engine.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lancia-Fulvia-1300-S3-Engine-/222351140735?hash=item33c529277f:g:3McAAOSw2xRYWDJY Guy Brian 8227 8) Title: Re: Fulvia 1300 engine needed! Given the value of Coupes now, aren't you always going to come up against those prepared to spend big bucks to get a replacement engine for their car? Title: Re: Fulvia 1300 engine needed! Post by: Richard Fridd on 22 December, 2016, 10:08:09 AM I have S2 Fulvia engines (dismantled) in my 'spares for sale' ad. In second hand condition, but the good news is, I don't think they have been machined before.
