Title: Diesel woes sorted Post by: bobhenry999 on 23 March, 2017, 08:59:02 PM Chaps,
I picked the Coupe up this afternoon, and all is now well. Local garage drained the tank, blew out the fuel line, emptied the float chamber, fitted a new fuel filter and refilled with petrol, and the car runs absolutely fine, so it seems no damage was done. I brimmed the tank and took it for a blast to clear out any diesel residue from the exhaust and it runs perfectly, in fact it seems to be running better than ever ! Or maybe that`s just a trick of my imagination. I might look into welding a narrower fuel neck into the tank`s filler to prevent a repeat, providing it`s not too big a job, otherwise I will just have to make sure I engage brain when refuelling in the future ! Anyway, the important thing is it`s not done any harm, so thanks for all your support and advice. Could you press fit a restrictor into the neck of the existing filler?
