Title: A new Beta HPE friend Post by: chriswgawne on 27 June, 2017, 08:32:03 AM Yesterday we met Luigi and his wife Giovanna from Venice for lunch for the first time having been introduced by some other friends from Venice.
Luigi has a longstanding passion for Lancia and he has owned from new a Fulvia 1600 Sport and also a 1600cc Beta HPE (and also a Maserati Ghibli softop). They arrived in their Beta HPE which is in truly remarkable condition looking like it has just come out of the showroom. It has done 60k kilometres from new and has original paint, interior, engine bay etc. When new, Luigi had all the hollow spaces in the body and subframe filled with polyurethane foam and he believes that this has contributed to the longevity of these hidden problem areas. Indeed, he think the car would float if submerged! Chris |
