Title: Weber carb. float level Post by: GREENYORKIE on 21 November, 2017, 03:29:12 PM Hi, does anyone know the correct dimension to set up the float level on a Weber 34 DATR as fitted to the 2000cc Beta. The Haynes manual has a useful picture but no dimension!
Thanks, David. Title: Re: Weber carb. float level Post by: neil-yaj396 on 23 November, 2017, 07:01:50 AM Time to join the Betaboyz Forum for a question like this I think? I'll try to dig out my carburettor manual and see if it says in there.
Float level isn't usually an issue in DATs though, and poor running is normally down to debris in the jets or failed rubber seals. Title: Re: Weber carb. float level Post by: neil-yaj396 on 26 November, 2017, 08:21:23 AM Dug out my Weber manual: It states -
Float Level 1. Hold the upper body in a vertical position, with the float tag gently touching the ball of the fully closed needle valve. 2. Measure the distance between the upper body (complete with gasket) and the top of the float. 3. Adjust as necessary by bending the inner float tag. It doesn't seem to say what the above measurement should be, or where the level should sit unfortunately. Hope this helps.... That's the info I have from the Haynes manual.I'll set it up so the float looks parallel,as in the picture, and see how it goes.
