« on: 21 April, 2008, 05:32:26 PM »
I have just bought my first Delta Turbo ie, (I am a Beta man, knowledge wise) Q. what is he best engine oil grade to use please ?
the car is 1989 and highish mileage, over 120,000 miles, no data book with the car.
many thanks in anticipation,
Keith

I use Millers CFS 10W60 in my 8-valve integrale.  CFS means Competition Full Synthetic and the wide grade means it doesn't run out of the oil seals too readily.  About £35 for 5 litres, ie, much cheaper than Mobil 1 (don't use the 0W40 grade; it's as runny as water) or Castrol RS which are both about £50.

However, the grade of oil is not really important if the engine hasn't been cared for in the past.

Thank you Neil, that is most helpful :)
we shall soon see how well engine has been cared for, but signs are not good, hence my other post for a replacement engine. I am planning to sprint the car asap.
best regards Keith
