« on: 01 August, 2007, 08:54:35 PM »

HERE'S A QUESTION FOR THE FLAVIA PEOPLE. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF A 5 SPEED FLAVIA GEARBOX WILL FIT STRAIGHT ONTO THE 1800 FLAVIA ENGINE, AND DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO HAS DONE THIS MOD? I AWAIT THE FLOOD OF REPLIES. ROGER. Huh?

Hi Roger
I'm not sure if the 5 speed box will fit the ealier engine, but i belive that the gear ratio on 5th gear is 1:1. which is the same as the 4th gear on your current gearbox, you would get no further reduction in engine revs with the 5 speed box.( or this is what I have been led to belive with the info that I have).
If you do find that this is incorrect, please let me know, as my flavia gets used on long distance journeys quite a bit.
regards
russell
p.s are we the only flavia owners in sunny wales?

Hi Russell. Well, until we here on the contary, ,I will presume that we are the Wales Flavia 2, both vignales unless I am mistaken. Thanks for the reply, I need a gearbox if you know of one as mine has been abused in the past , by the previous owner ( not an LMC member), next floorpans, Cry found a man who does!! P.s. Have you repaire and fitted the hard top yet? Grin REgards Roger.

Hi Roger
i'll see if any one has a gearbox, but the panels you'll have to make yourself,or get someone to make them for you.

Hi Russell. I have the floorpans being made as we speak, a gearbox would be nice, had a coupe before, ex Richard Thorne rally car, originally from Ireland, but thats another story, if you try really hard you can probably build a vignale aroound a hardtop Wink. All the best Wales Flavia 1. Grin

Hello Roger,
Does this mean that you no longer need my Flavia gearbox?
