Period looking Bluetooth speaker for classic
« on: 09 June, 2023, 11:09:34 AM »
My car doesn't have an aerial fixed to the body so I tried a powered hidden one under the dash. Unfortunately it was useless.
I recently came across a period looking wireless speaker that can play sound from your smart phone or you can insert a SD card. I've made an aluminium bracket that will hang off the bulkhead under the dash, above the transmission tunnel. It'll be about 8cm from the bulkhead, which should make the bass sound good. It'll be just about visible from the driving seat and close enough to be manually controlled by the buttons on the top. Here's a picture of it in the bracket ready to be fitted soon. I'll also fix a strut back to the bulkhead to keep it still. Anyone interested, I can supply the name of the Bluetooth speaker.

If have a fairly hefty bluetooth speaker, which I used to stick on the back seat, only problem anything over 65mph the Flaminia GT, isn’t the quietist of beasts. So now I just listen to that lovely engine.

My one is audible up to at least 70mph - I haven't taken the car above that recently.

Hi Brian,
Here you go:
BlitzWolf BW-WA4 30W Wireless Speaker Portable bluetooth Speaker. £67.74
I bought it off ebay.co.uk from Seller: uk2015.bar
Its available elsewhere e.g. Amazon.
The sound quality is pretty good for £67.74, but not quite as good as the JBL models at around £100.
The bracket was made from an anodised aluminium 25mmx2mmx1000mm rod from Screwfix for about £5.00
Any other queries, get back to me.

Hi Everyone who's interested, Sorry but I've just found this Bose speaker that will sound better ('cos it costs more and its from Bose) that'll look good in a classic Lancia.
Check it out:

I've installed the Bose BT speaker and it sounds very good - better than the BlitzWolf as you would expect from a speaker twice the price. I think its looks more period as well esp. in a Flaminia Touring. i'll post some pictures of it in situ tomorrow.

I'd very strongly recommend Mini rig 3. Superb quality, massively loud, 100 hour run time and made in UK (Bristol). Knocks Bose out of the ring. I've compared both and the bose sound quality wasn't a patch.

Cyborg7, Obviously there are better BT speakers out there but I was wanting a period looking speaker that wouldn't look out of place in my Flaminia; the Bose was the best option I found.
