Does anyone know how to remove the plastic heater control levers?

I needed only one of the 4 items but could only buy a new set of four. I don’t know if the old ones pull off with force or if they’re glued, on which could mean careful cutting, or if applying heat and pulling would help to do it.

The usual problem with anything to do with removing trim - if you know that hard pulling in the right place will release something you can work with that, but if you don’t it’s very easy to damage something!

OK - sorted.

Basically the plastic part of the lever didn't seem to be glued, but it was firmly attached and I cannot imaging that pulling it really hard would have done anything other than damage.

I used a very sharp thin knife to get between the metal and the remainder of the plastic on the top and gradually cut through one side of the plastic levering the knife sideways. When I had split the plastic to about 80% of the way down I gripped it with a long-nose pliers and it pulled out without using too much force or doing any damage to anything.

Hope this might be useful to anyone contemplating the same job. The plastic heater levers are rarely all unbroken.
