Following on from replacing the timing chain on my Flavia 1800 and checking and re-checking the valve clearances the engine does still seem to be rather noisy ( rattle ). I have set them with the engine cold and at 0.10 mm for inlet and 0.20 mm for exhaust which are the settings in the manual. Mine has an 819 400 series engine so are these correct for this engine ?. At a recent Lancia gathering a number of folk peered in and all thought the noise was being created by the valve/tappets.
