I fitted 4 165/80R14 DUNLOP SPORT CLASSIC (85H) tyres about 1200 miles ago and although I've never driven the car in the wet, the dry grip seems extremely good to me.

Currently, my S1 fulvia Zagato old tyres have 165x70x14.  Pic attached.

Can I fit 175x70x14 without any fear of the tyres rubbing against the wheel arch / going over bumps / handling? Pic of car attached. Seems like there's enough height in front / rear

If so, tubes or, tubeless?

many thanks

Since tyres in the original size for this model (145/14) are now available (Pirelli, Michelin etc from specialists), using a different size is not highly recommended. In fact, particularly S1 Fulvias can show wear in their trackrod ends, a phenomenon facilitated by larger tyres. Furthermore, in the very unlikely and unfortunate event of an accident, the insurance company might question the use of tyres of the wrong size to avoid paying damage.

Finally brought the procrastination under control and bought some Kumho 175/70r14. Will have a good drive tomorrow to see how they are.

Pleased with the tyres. Ultimately a compromise on size as they're slightly smaller diameter than the original size. See pic.

A run up the road now shows 70 at 4200 revs instead of 4000 and 80 at 4750 instead of 4500. So it's more buzzy/ noisy on the motorway.

Ideally I'd try 175/80 14 in a back to back test, they'd be a clearance compromise but have lower revs at speed. Or I could put my 165/80 14 Falkens on these rims......if only 175/75 were available!
