By the way, just noticed and corrected the auto spell checker that substituted Dilemma for Dilambda when I started typing this. I'm sure that description may be fitting when any major mechanical mishap occurs!
That made me smile and reminded me of Ronald ‘Steady’ Barker’s piece for Car magazine April 1969 “On the Horns of a Dilambda” his hilarious account of a journey across France in a Dilambda written of course in his inimitable style.
So, the spelling correction may have some truth about it as I can attest to! My Dilambda is called Modestine due in part to he similarity to RL Stevenson’s recalcitrant donkey in his “Travels with a Donkey” Needs prodding with a sharp stick from time to time to remind her who’s boss!
